  1. Nano (symbol n) is a unit prefix meaning "one billionth". Used primarily within the metric system, this prefix denotes a factor of 10−9 or 0.000000001. It is frequently encountered in science and electronics for prefixing units of time and length.
  2. GNU nano is a text editor program for Unix-like computing systems or operating environments using a command line interface. It emulates the Pico text editor, part of the Pine email client, and also provides additional functionality.
