Training Outreach

From regional-training

A non-profit outreach program for people starting out in Information Technology (IT).

The particular interest in this wiki is the engagement of local and regional young students to mentor them along IT career paths.

Introductory and Advanced lessons will be available to kick-start and nurture interest, which can then be continued through remote learning and collaboration.

The main requirement is for students to be keen to learn and have some availability and access to basic IT and networking equipment in order to participate.

We will endeavor to establish outreach programs in various regional areas encompassing a wider scope over time.

The outreach program is currently looking for sponsorship, instructors and helpers.

The course material covers hardware, programming and development, supporting projects where the students get to make stuff. This is our way of giving back to the community, with a special interest in regional communities. By keeping secrets and not sharing we have not realised what life is about, so we wish to pass on our skills.

Adult instructors/supervisors are required to hold Working With Vulnerable People registration.
